Patrick Cantlay to Play in the 2024 John Deere Classic

Patrick Cantlay, the 8th-ranked player in the world, has committed to play in this year’s John Deere Classic, July 3-7, at TPC Deere Run.

It will be the first competitive appearance at the Deere for the 32-year-old Californian, who has not missed a cut in 12 tournaments this year and has six top 25 finishes, including two top 10s.

“We are extremely happy to have Patrick Cantlay join our field this year,” said tournament director Andrew Lehman. “Patrick is one of the top players in the world, is a fixture on U.S. national teams and we know Quad Cities golf fans will appreciate being able to see him play.”

In addition to being ranked No. 8 in the Official World Golf Rankings, Cantlay is 15th in the PGA Tour’s FedExCup standings. He won the FedExCup in 2021.

Cantlay won back-to-back BMW Championships in 2021 (Caves Valley) and 2022 (Wilmington County Club) and is a two-time winner of the Memorial (2019, 2021). He was a member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team in 2020 and 2023 and the Presidents Cup team in 2019 and 2022.

The 53rd edition of the Quad Cities’ PGA Tour event will be played the week of July 3-7 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis for an $8 million purse with Sepp Straka as defending champion.

The John Deere Classic, which includes Birdies for Charity, is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization located in the John Deere Classic tournament offices at 15623 Coaltown Road, East Moline, Illinois.  Since its 1971 founding, the tournament has helped raise $174 million for charity.
