2021 John Deere Classic Helps Raise $12.56 Million for Charity By Ashley Hansen | 13 December, 2021

The 2021 John Deere Classic helped raise $12.56 million via its Birdies for Charity program despite being required to conduct the tournament under COVID-19 restrictions. The program’s 470 participating charities received an eight percent bonus in addition to the money they raised through Birdies, tournament officials announced. Checks were mailed October 29th to all participating charities.

John Deere Classic tournament director Clair Peterson today announced an “All-Midwest” group of players who have received sponsor exemptions to this year’s event, July 8-11, at TPC Deere Run. “We are proud and excited to award sponsor exemptions to six high-quality players who have Midwestern backgrounds,” Peterson said. “We look forward to welcoming them and their supporters to the tournament this year.” The contestants played for Illinois, Illinois State, Iowa, Iowa State and Kansas while the sixth grew up in Michigan and played his college golf in Florida.
