The John Deere Classic is Proud to Honor Sue Broderick as a JDC Community Hero
The second John Deere Classic Community Hero was featured in local newspaper advertising this week as part of the tournament's season-long campaign to recognize those who volunteer their time to the tournament and to other charitable causes.
This week's hero is Sue Broderick, who has volunteered at the John Deere Classic for the last 20 years, both as a standard bearer and as an assistant in the Caddie tent.
The John Deere Classic will donate $1,000 to the charity designated by each hero, and Sue has designated Humility of Mary Housing.
In addition to volunteering at the John Deere Classic, Sue has served as a reader for the blind at WVIK, a bell-ringer for the Salvation Army, a guide at the Figge Art Museum, and a neighborhood point of contact for American Heart Association and American Cancer Society fund raising campaigns.
The "Heroes" campaign appears as a half-page ad - pictured here - in the Moline Dispatch and the Quad City Times.
