The John Deere Classic is Proud to Honor Russ Naaktgeboren as a JDC Community Hero
The third John Deere Classic Community Hero was featured in local newspaper advertising this week as part of the tournament's season-long campaign to recognize those who volunteer their time to the tournament and to other charitable causes.
This week's hero is Russ Naaktgeboren , who has volunteered at the John Deere Classic for the last 10 years as a marshall.
The John Deere Classic will donate $1,000 to the charity designated by each hero, and Russ has designated the Friends of Strays in Princeton, Illinois.
In addition to volunteering at the John Deere Classic, Russ has been involved with the Boy Scouts of America, Junior Achievement, March of Dimes, Children's Miracle Network, and has been a certified CPR instructor for the American Red Cross for the last 30 years.
The "Heroes" campaign appears as a half-page ad - pictured here - in the Moline Dispatch and the Quad City Times.
