STRICKER GIVES COURSE CONDITIONS A THUMBS UP

SILVIS, IL

The John Deere Classic is being played a month later than usual because of the Olympics. Three-time champion Steve Stricker said players will be playing a course is better shape than it’s been in July.

“The course is in unbelieveable shape,” Stricker said Wednesday. “I got out there and played five holes before dark (Tuesday), and it’s the best I’ve seen it. It’s going to be a great week for everybody here.”

Stricker there’s not a blade of grass out of place at TPC Deere Run.

“The fairways are as good as I’ve seen them, and I was right behind the mowers and the mowing crew on the greens, and I think they were even rolling them,” Stricker said. “And the rough looked uniform. I didn’t go in there, but it looked healthy and

uniform, so it looks like putting the ball in the fairway is going to be key this week, too.”
