Impact of charity on the community:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley is a nationally recognized, one-to-one youth mentoring program that has served the greater Quad Cities community since 1988. 

The organization:

• Engages adult volunteers to serve as friends and role models to children in our community who are facing adversity.  Our “Bigs” help to ignite the potential that is inside each and every child.  
• BBBS offers mentoring programs for children and young adults from kindergarten through high school graduation.  Adults meet with children over school lunch hours or out in the community.
• BBBS collaborates with area school districts to identify and engage vulnerable children in our program and, as a result, 89% either improved or maintained grades last year.
